Dwayne Tryumf – Never Be The Same

UK Gospel Artist Dwayne Tryumf:

Born and raised in Clapham, London, Dwayne Tryumf has been involved in music production and rapping since ’97. His involvement with music began in a secular rap group called “Magic Circle” which featured UK artists such as Marga Man, Blackout, Chris Smoove and Don P (Pierre).
He became a born again Christian in ’99 and his music took on a change in direction. From then on doors opened up for him by way of collaborating with another member of his former group who also came to the faith. The two were known as ‘Dwayne & Wayne’ and during that time they began doing shows at many churches around London which gave Dwayne more stage experience.
In 2000 he embarked on a solo career whilst working for a UK based record label ‘Jetstar Records’ as an engineer / producer. In 2003 he was signed to Jetstar Records as an artist and producer. During this time he produced tracks with a number of reggae artists on the Jetstar label such as Lloyd Brown, Don Ricardo, Osmond Collins, reggae icon Greggory Isaacs and Savanah. In addition he produced the smash hit “Incense Riddim”, his first album released which sold 3000 copies in just 3 months and has also crossed over to the Japanese market!
In all the hype of the dancehall scene Tryumf never left his love for Hip Hop and went on to perform in front of 10,000 at the Earls Court “Urban Music Festival” among acts such as Jay Z, Beyonce and Alicia Keys. Since then Tryumf has travelled around the world ministering the Gospel. From ‘Jazz Cafe’ in Camden, UK, to ‘GL Live’ in Birmingham, ‘Flevo Festival’ in Rotterdam, ‘Legacy Conference’ in Chicago and many more events in places like Canada, Germany, Edinburgh, Memphis and Kansas City.
To add to Tryumf’s resume he has worked behind the scenes for a lot of UK and US Christian artists engineering and producing on their tracks including Greenjade, Jahaziel, Four Kornerz, Mark J and Katalyst in addition to producing music for MTV Base and MTV Africa. Tryumf also featured on Lacrae’s US Billboard number 1 selling gospel album “Rebel” on a track called ‘Don’t Waste Your Life’. This was the first Christian rap album to go to number 1 in the US Billboard Gospel Charts. It was also used as entrance music at the 2009 ‘Ultimate Fighter Championships’.
To keep listeners happy Tryumf put together his first solo Hip Hop album called “Ghetto Scripture” in 2006.
The album received regular airplay from both gospel and commercial Djs from all over the world. In 2008 he went on to release a taster EP called ‘The Mark of the Peace: The EP’. Dwayne released on youtube his double time summary of the entire bible in 1 minute and 37 seconds ‘777: The Intro’ in Feburary 2009. This has recieved over 100,000 views so far and has got people all over the world trying to replicate it. Furthermore Tryumf released a funky house remix to ‘777: The Intro’ and within one week was listed in the top 30 on the Amazon dance chart.
His next project is called “777”. Tracks from the forthcoming album have already been getting air play on Radio 1 and Radio 1xtra through DJ Ras Kwame. The album features UK Christian artists like Jahaziel, Reign of Fire, ‘Incognito’ lead singer Tony Momrelle, Muyiwa, Ryan Carty, production from US producer Lee Jerkins and more.
